Swinging across the light blue sky are two cable cars, hanging from a system built to transport people to an island in Vietnam. Their thick cables are drawn directly through the center of the photograph and arch down towards the ocean below. Going up on one side of the machine is a yellow car, almost reaching the end of the frame. Having just entered the scene and on its way down, just after the first one, is a blue car. They each hold vibrant colors that instantly grab your attention.
This is CHANGE.
STORY
This CHRONICLE was taken during my family's last vacation together overseas. I was working on eventually heading to college, and they were dealing with life and all of its unending obstacles. However, weeks before this event, my family did encounter a new challenge that would drastically change their plans.
I adore this photo for two reasons. Number one, it's very interesting. You get plenty of questions when you look at this CHRONICLE. Where are the people going? What is the end of their journey? What's below them? And so on.
Reason number two is that, while I wasn't in the cable cars, my family and I were feeling the exact same thing as you. We had both left and entered a new frame of life. We didn't know what was to come. We had no idea where we were going to land in the end. We had our heads in the clouds, in that we couldn't see what was happening.
In the end, and even now, we have to leave it up to the machine holding up the cable cars, slowly moving them along. While my family's machine is more like a friend than a piece of equipment, the metaphor still stands.
That sense of unknowing is exactly what I wanted to capture in this photograph, and I think it is done well.
If you choose to hang this print, I would like to think that you'll be reminded that there is more to come, and you can't see it, you'll eventually be able to see again.

All prints are produced edge-to-edge, with no white border, allowing the image to fully occupy the space for a clean, modern presentation.
The only exception is Hahnemühle Photo Rag Ultra Smooth, which includes a 0.79" (20 mm) white border as part of its fine art presentation, enhancing its gallery-style aesthetic.
If you prefer a white border on other materials, this can be achieved through custom framing using a mat board. This involves selecting a slightly larger frame and adding a mat, which surrounds the image and creates that classic, centered border effect.
