You can tell that the ocean is slightly choppy as bubbles rise up around the buoy, helping you visualize its pattern of motion. Its reflection is roughly seen bouncing back, but the wind stirring up the water is distorting the image. However, this distortion adds to the movement and feel of the scene. The massive body of water the buoy sits on appears like a gradient. Starting in the top left of the frame and moving down to the bottom right, there is a noticeable decrease in luminance. Overall, this photograph is a lovely representation of movement and control on the ocean.

STORY
This photograph evokes a feeling that can only be understood when you take the moment to bring it in. If you focus on the buoy and slowly expand out to grasp the significance of its surroundings, you'll start to see what I mean.
The buoy itself is the subject of the photograph. It sits at an angle, with bubbles with a slight fizzy texture popping up around it. These two things combined tell you one thing: there is motion. The buoy is fighting a battle of its own as the ocean moves it back and forth, pushing enough water into its floater that we can see bubbles.
As you expand your view, you'll notice that the waves on the surface seem slightly choppy, which would make sense after considering what we just discussed about the buoy. They reflect different shades of blue, teal, and peacock blue up into the atmosphere.
All these different elements of the CHRONICLE come together and allow us to feel the motion that was taking place: the push of the wind against the side of the buoy, the heavy urging of the ocean, the rocking of the buoy, and the popping of bubbles as they rise to the surface.
For me, all of this motion has led to an emotion of slight cool and distress. There is certainly a calm about the scene, similar to how you feel in the back of a train, swaying back and forth. However, there is a little bit of distress in this image as you can feel that there are things happening, and maybe even worse things to come. Yet, there is no reason to fret about the possibility of something worse, because the likely hood that this buoy suffers any harm is too the moon and back; just like someone I know.

All prints are produced edge-to-edge, with no white border, allowing the image to fully occupy the space for a clean, modern presentation.
The only exception is Hahnemühle Photo Rag Ultra Smooth, which includes a 0.79" (20 mm) white border as part of its fine art presentation, enhancing its gallery-style aesthetic.
If you prefer a white border on other materials, this can be achieved through custom framing using a mat board. This involves selecting a slightly larger frame and adding a mat, which surrounds the image and creates that classic, centered border effect.
